Over 100 years ago German settlers in Columbus began building a quaint village now known as German Village. They made their houses of brick, sturdy and cozy, in an architectural style similar to the homes they had left behind in the old country. Years later, Juergen’s German Backerei, Restaurant and Import House was established
Today Juergen’s is a well known Columbus landmark. Visitors from all across the world come to sample authentic German specialties. Rosemarie Keidel, German immigrant, current owner and proprietor for more than 25 years, preserves the old German ways. Juergen’s is the only truly authentic German establishment still operating in German Village today.
In recent years Juergen’s has been renovated and expanded. In addition to our restaurant and bakery we have a fully stocked delicatessen, a wine shop with both imported and domestic wines and beers, import gift items, and a bed & breakfast above the restaurant.
